McMillan last evening from Robert Anderson, Jr., Cambridge, Mana. The wiiterstates that the captain went lo b.d as well as usual (April 4,) and *ind a comfortable night until about three o'clock when he woke up with a burning pain in his chest. Mrs. Barnard went down stairs to make a mustard plaster and had hardly got down when she heard a fall. She called Mr. Anderson who went in and found the Captain on the f_loor,and turning him over saw at once he was a very sick man. Before the physician arrived Capt. Barnard had breathed his last. The doctor pronounced the cause heart trouble and said that nothing could have saved him. In the same mail lust evening Mr. McMillan also received a letter from Capt. Barnard written cu the eve of his death ln which he complained of bclnn somewhat troubled with asthma and bronchitis. Tim First Annual Reunion cf the Ar- tisans of Tignish took place Qu Tuesday evening laat.'1`he evenings enjoyment con- sisted of an entertainment, basket sale and dance. About four hundred were present in Tigniah Hail and spent an enjoyable evening. The entertainment consisted of instrumental music _by the orchestra, choruses by the Tlgnish choir, solos, recltations etc. Father Gauthlcr’s solos were well rendered and much ap- preciated. Miss Chalauon had to respond to a rapturous encore. Miss McElroy de- lighted the audience hy her cleverly given recltatlons, whilst L S Perry fairly brought down the house by his violin solo. Miss Georgia Mc'l`ague and Miss Nora Dalton surprised all by their clever execution of a difllcult violin duet. The music by the orchestra was indeed excellent and the choruses were the beat ever heard in Tignisb. The sale of baskets brought upwards of a hundred dollars and the audience was de- lighted with the entertainment. The accompanists were Miss Minnie Richard, Miss McTague and Miss Josephine Gaudet.
