I have the honor to inform you that IIcr Maiesty will not he advised to CX-Cl’ClS‘O Her power of disallowance with respect to the following Acts of the Legislature of Prince Edward Island, transcripts of which accompani- ed from Despatch No. 94, of the 14th of October last, VIZ :— Cap. 1, "' An Act for raising arevenue.” Cap. XVII, “ An Act further to amend the Acts for the regulation of the Militia and Volunteer Forces." Cap. XXIII, “ An Act in further amendment of the Act incorporating the Summerside Bank.” Cap. XXXIV, “ An Act to enable the Government to secure Telegraphic Communication.” I referred this last Act for the consideration of the Board of Treasury, and I have the honor to transmit to you an extract from the reply which has been received from their Lordships. I feel much: apprehension that the Colony may here- after find itself hampered by having granted to the Com- pany such concessions as are confined by this Act, and the Act of 17th Vic., Cap. 4, and may observe that the grant of such exclusive privileges violates the principles now acted upon by Her Majesty’s Government, in deal- ing with. these Companies. 1' have the honor to be Sir, your most obedient humble servant, (Signed) GRANVILLE.
