The school was artistically decorated with evergreen and Christmas Bells. The pupils were thoroughly examined by their teacher Miss Ada Murphy. The prompt and correct apswers of the pupils testify to the care with which they had been taught-. The exercises were enlivened by recitations and singing of songs by the pupils. The pupils were treated to candy by the teacher and they presented her with a nice gift as rt token of their respect for her. 'lhe ratepayers pre sent expressed themselves as well pleased with the work beilg do.ic in the s -hool. The pupils showed by their ready answers that they had been carefully trained In the different branches. A carefully selected program of choruses, read- ings, recitutions and dialogues was teacher treated the visitors and pup- ils to candy. The ratepayers ex- pw.-st-il themselves ns well pleased with the progress being made in the school and complimented the teacher on her success and painstaking efforts. The proceedings were brought to a close by all singing God Save the King -A SUCCESSFUL EXAMINATION. -The semi-annual examination of Foxley River School. which was held on Dec. 20th, 1915, was a splendid suc- cess. The examination opened at 6.30 p. m., with a large attendance of rate- payers and visitors. The eschool was very appropriately decorated for the occasion. They were cited in an order of the day of the- division ln the following terms: "Marie, Helene, Camille and Made- leine \'atel. at the peril of life in a re- gion occupied by the Germans, patrio- tlcally revictualed in the thick of the woods from the 8th to 12th of Sep- tembgr, 1914, seven French soldiers who were then surrounded by the en- emy at Fere Champenolse. and who, thanks to their care, were able to tlnd their regiment after the German retreat.
