LONDON.- The British but-tlesllip Vanguard blew up and sank on July 9th. says all oiilcial statement issued last night by the British Admiralty. I-The British 'battleship Vanguard dlsplfaced 19,250 tons and her comple- ment before the war \vas 870 men. The Vanguard belonged to the St. Vincent class oi’ dreadnougbts and was launched in Marcll, 1909. The Vanguard was 546 feet long with a beam of 84 feet and a draft of 27 feet. Her armament ,consisted of ten 12 inch guns, eighteen four inch and four three pounders in addition to three torpedo tubes. U men of those on board survived and one of them' has since died. Twenty- four officers and 71 men. however, were not on board at the time of the explosion. - The official statement reads: H. M. S. Vanguard, Captain James D.
