From there the party continued on to Borden where they ate lunch. After this they took Number 2 highway to Charlottetown and paid a visit. to Swift's Chick Hatchery where the Manager. Mr. George Bunting. showed them through and explained in detail how chi-szs are incubated. Then a treat. of ice cream and cokea were donated by Swift Canadian Co. and enjoyed by all concerned. A tour of Wheatley Bros. farm at East Royalty, where many thous- ands of pullets are raised annually. was the next stop. After that the party stopped for lunch at Sandy's Restaurant. The June index, based on 1928 equals 100. was 165, up 3.2 points over May and 8.7 points over June. 1949. Since the first of the year the index has risen from 157.1. The previous peak for the index was 184.3 registered in May, 1920.
