Henry and Mrs. Duncan, Central Royalty this week to bid them fare- well prior to their departure next week for Alberta. They were present- ed with a handsome parlor, clock and address read_by_ T. P. Cullen. The address which was couched in splen- did language, expressed the general regret felt at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan from the Island, but congratulating the West on gaining such estimablc people. The address was signed by John B. Roper, James F. Roper, George Younker, T. P. Cullen. John I. Wood, Miller Mathie- son, Silas Prowse and Roderick Matheson. Mr. Duncan replied' in suitable terms. Refreshments were served bythe ladies and a very pleasant social evening was spent. When Wolfe lay fatally wounded on the Plains of Abraham and the battle light in the eyes that looked upon the victory through the mists of death was fast fading away, there stood by his side, supporting him, an oflicer whom the dying General esteemed as in brother. Bravely had he foughlt on that eventful day.
