The Abe- gweit worked on a 24-hour basis to complete the required num- ber of crossings to handle all the traffic, but the two-ship schedule could not be maintained, report- ed the CNR office in Monctan, Sub zero temperatures froze the Prince Edward Island's fresh water lines, and these repairs, coupled with a heavy build-up of ice, kept her in port. .
