McDonald stated that the chief ,factors contributory to the erection |of the new Canadian National Ho- t tel were the presence in the city of Mr .N- Rattenbury, a director of the ic. P.. was a member of the railway committee. that the province is served solely by the Canadian Na- tionai Railway. and the editorials‘ written in the local press- Three years ago a committee was appointed by the board to press the matter. This committee has been very active ever since, and the board itself kept the matter before the peo- plc of the province. At the end of a two year period a. communication was received from SiLHenry‘ Thornton giving rise to a hope that is now becoming a reality. The burning of the Victoria Howl made it aimosti imperative that a. new hotel be con- structed. This province. is to have one of the first Canadian National Rail- way hotels in the Maritime Provinc- es.
