Mc» Innis, while anchored off Point Prim had quite an experience on Thursday night. At seven o’clock in the evening one of the worst storms experienced by the cretv was encountered. Shortly after eight o’clock the new steel cable snapped and the schooner was placed under reefed sail to brave th e storm. A short time after- wards 30 lobster traps were swept away. The loss of the traps was followed by the breaking loose of a dory and the lcss of the main rigging. McKie, the well knowli Charlotte- town horsernan, who has been in the city several days, has disposed of the car-, load of horses which he brought here from Montreal. Mr.McKie§has during his career sold thousands of horses in the States and throughout Canada, but this is one of his first business visits to Halifax.
