Allen & Co's copy books, con- taining Jackson’s system of upright -penmanship. This system is for use in India and the colonies. It is beyond -doubt an excellent Style of vertical pen- rnanship and comes recommended by fthe leading educationalists of Canada. A number of P. E. Island’s most suc- -cessful terchers have endorsed this system and the hope is generally ex- pressed that the Bard of Education Vince with them. The copies are finely graded. beginning with the most simple elements which ,enter into the firma- tion of letters, and proceeding gradually rorthe more diiiicult and complex. ln this respect they are worthy of special commendation. The paper is excellent. The copies of the advanced numbers are we-ll chosen, not only for the pur- pose ei serving as models of penman- ship, but also for imparting uselul information. Cornwall, which sad event occurred at the home of his aunt, Mrs. George Mayhew, Margate.. Just four weeks ago, he came here f- r 1 avisit, previfus to his departure for California for tue benctit of his health, but was seized with hemoerrhase. which' sooo placed him beyond all medical aid. He. how"ever. lingered on, growing weaker each d y,~ until yo torday m0111- ing, Sept. 16th, when he peacefully passed away. He was a very fine young man, highly respected by all who knew him. For some years he had been a true follower of Christ, and he died in the full, assurance that he was going to be with Christ. Much sy mpa- thy is felt for the bereaved father, and one remaining brother, the only survi- vors of a. large family. Last Salur-. day, the body was taken to his father’s home in Qornwall. and from thence the interment took place Sunday.--COM.
