There were twenty- two members present. The minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed, and the treasurer gave her report. It was decided to have Father McKenna buy the statue of st. Teresa which the League plans to present to the Church. There was a discussion on the making of altar linens. Final ar- rangements were made for the bazaar and committees appointed to take care of the sewing table, pantry table, fish pond. etc. It was decided to order Christ- mas cards from the Sisters in Alexandria. L. was held on Sun- day, October 19, with an attend- ance of 21 members and two vis- itors. The meeting opened with the League prayer by the Rev. Father McCarthy. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secre- tary, and adopted as read. after which the treasurer gave her re- port. Rev. Fr. Mocarthy then spoke, asking the members to give him the same support as they did their former pastor, and also com- mending them on their good at- tendance at the meeting. Two thank-you letters were read from members for gifts of re- membrance. one who is leaving to take up residence in another par- ish, and one who has made her home in the parish. The conveners then gave 9. re- port of their work. Mrs. James Tierney has been appointed con- vener of education, replacing Mrs. E. J. Trainor.
