Bean, and other guests, and presided over the meeting. Devotions open- ed with scripture and prayer, and the hymn, “‘While Shepherds Wat- ched their Flocks by Night,” Was sung. —Readings—were,—“Tragedy—at Bethich-m’’ by Mrs. Ira Huest's, and “‘No Room in the Inn,” by Mrs. Scott Clark. Seven members answered roll eall with scripture, and five vis- itors were present, Mr. Bean gave an interesting -talk on “Missionary Interests” and spoke of emergency needs such as the typhoon in Japan, and ways to help. He commended the group, which though small \is very active, and said that it takes all the groups working together to accomplish the miissionary work undertaken by the church. Two charter members, Mrs. William Stavert and Mrs. Ro- bert Crozier were honored on the occasion of their birthdays, Dec- ember 14 and 12 respectively. Mrs. Stavert was the recipient of a Life Membership when. the presentation was made by the president, Mrs. Paynter. Mrs. Crozier who was celebrating her 89th birthday, received a pot of *mums presented by Mrs. Ralph Moase. Also on display was a birthday cake made and present- ed. by Mrs. Lorne Crozier. At the tea hour, Mrs. Ira Huestis presided over the silver tea service, and Mrs. Moase was assisted in serving by Mrs. Scott Clark, Mrs. Horace Paynter, and Mrs. Lorne Crozier. The tea table featured lighted candles in Christmas colors and the- birth- day cake which was cut by the celebrants and served with ice eream.
