The horse wus finally clip- turcd on Water St. and was appar- ently unhurt.-H. _ FROM WOUNDED ISLANDER -Miss Evelyn Arsenault, Abram’s Village, received another letter re- cently from her cousin, Augustin Arsenault, son of lllr. Leon J. Arsen- ault. who went across with the first contingent. Mr. Arsenault has been through many hard times since he was at the front but his many friends will be glad to learn that up to the date of this letter hc was»in the best of health. It will be remembered that about three months ago he had been wounded. in his last letter he gives details of this mishap. A big shell burst oyer his head. which stunned him for the moment and when he came to, he felt the blood running down his back. He had re- ceived five wounds, none of which were serious. After a few days-of medical treatment he was able to be out again. Mr. Arsenault previous to this had received a promotion for bravery in the trenches. There were twenty-tive of them holding 200 yds. of trenches, when a severe bombard- ment fell on them; tho scene he de- scribes as terrible. lt was like a huge city all :ture All his trench comrades ran but two of them. who with himself succeeded in maintain- ing their positions. They were all three promoted for their daring on this occasion.
