He eloquently appealed to the auditory for larger c0ntri` buttons towards the support of the Edu- cational Society. At the University are three distinct faculties, the Arts Faculty, the Theological _Faculty and thc Scientific Faculty. Mount Allison is not unrlcr_ta_il`r- in_g n. thorough scientific cdncation but is giving the students the first two years course, almost identical with that of McGill, which will admit the students to the third yenrthcre on thc second year applied science diplo ma from the Mount Allison institution. The past year has been by far thc most successful year in the history of thc unl- vcrsity. He did not think a general appeal at the present time would he opportune in view of the hardship, cspccially in the agricultural classes. The necessity for another theological professor was urgent. There has been supplied $18,000 for thc Charles F. The education given would cost much more but for thc dcyotlon Of many of the God- fcaring people of the Methodist Church and any student, who goes to the colicgc silnply to aid himself to make moncyis pursuing an unworthy course. The duno- minatlon must take hold of thcircducn~ tional fund and make it vcry much larger or they will bc greatly-‘cnibnrasscd shortly in thc conduct of the university. Pmfcssor J. M. Palmer was thc last speaker. llc made an cloqucnt plea for college trainiugln viewuf the advance- ment of the world along all lines; of activity at the present day. And if thcsc arc thc essential factors of a liberal education thorn is no place whcrc it can hcttrr be obtained than in Mount Allison, the gra- duates of which have evcn held their own with the graduates of other Canadian colleges. The past ycnr has beerra most successful one for thc Aca- demy and the highest stamlard of the past eleven years has been obtained.
