' At one point in his examination Mr. C; F " produced a blank cheque bearing the Anglln-Norcross stamp and the signature of the witness. who when questioned said that he had signed blank cheques on a number of occasions. The one in question probably hai been sign- ed and given to 'Lee prior to his (savoy's) proceeding on holiday. Considerable 1uestioning also cent- red around some receipts for the amount of 3527 which were receipt- ed by Domonic Doyle, dated Octob- er 15. 1965. which almost coincid- ed with the date of a shortage of S250 in the petty cash. Mr. Camp- bell also qur-tloned the witness re- garding the reported quantities of cement and plywood that were he Ins delivered around town. Referring to the shortage in pet- ty cash, Witness said that Lee had reported it in October. De- fcnce tbt suggested that witness had been sendingfalse reports to Montreal from that time until April 20, and witness said "that: right". He found no marks, bruises or swelling and was only able to locate the area by finger pressure and the response of the accused. He admini tered a mild sedative and called for the ambulance. Ex.-Cst.
