Mr. Kelly's passing come as a great surprise to his fam- ily and many friends. Although being confined to his room for the past three years with a slight stroke, he otherwise enjoy- ed good health, and his sudden passing on the above mentioned date came as e. shock to his son Charles 13., whom he heri been residing with for the past elcvcn years. Notwithstanding the fact that Mr. Kelly had reached his 97th year, he was always bright and cheerful. His three years of confinement did not seem to impair in the least his ont- stanciing and admirable pleasant- ness. His many friends took .1 grout pcasure out o; visiting him, as his memory, much to the wonderment of all, served hiin so well that: no was capable of recalling tho hap- penings of his boyhood days and re- lating them in detail. Mr. Kelly was bom at Fort An- gustus, where he lived with his father, John Kelly, until he reach- ed his early twenties, when 11c znov- ed with his wife.
