SPRING PARK SCHOOL, The schhool-room, Great George Street, is vell ventilated. The Lawson. Number on The examiner speaks and pretty Miss A. Sv. clean teacher is the register, very highly of this school. LOTCHFORD SCHOOL, on Kent Street (west), is off the street. The teachers are Mr. Amos and Miss Welsh. The former has on the register 47, the lat- ter 56. Both schools seem to be in good order. WEST KENT STREET SCHOOL. Scett’s Hall: ventilaiion not so good as some others; children wholesome and intel- ligent. Tho Principal, Mr. A. A. Mc- Kenzie, is a very experienced teacher, and he evidently spars no pains to make his pupils worthy of his high reputation. Some of his pupils read exceedingly well. Num- ber on register, 44. QUEEN SQUARE SCHOOL, St. Patrick’s Hall—Reooms airy and well arranged ; good order seems to pervade the school. Many of the pupils are well ad- vanced in their studies. Mr. Peter Curren, Principal, has 48 on his register; Mr. Mc- Ilmeel, 60; Mr. Smith, 69; Mr. F. Curren, 66; and Mr. MeDonald, 64. No examiners present when our reporter called. EAST KENT STREET SCHOOL, Formerly Normal School. Of the pupils of Mr. Millar's Department, the examiner, (Rey. A. Osborne) gives very flattering re- ports. He says that pupils of the same rank in England and New York are nota whit better instructed. Number on register, 50. Miss McKinnon, formerly of the Model School, has an excellant class. She was to-day the recipient of a Silver Pencil Case, as a token of the regard of two of her pupils. Number on register, 41. Mr. Seaman’s class is too full for his room. Discipline good. Pupils well advanced. Number now on register, 67. Miss Eliza Lawson and Miss Miller have overcrowded classes. Their class-room is airy, but rather too small. It was nicely decorated for the occasion. The pupils are making rapid progress. Reading and singing both very good. Number on register, 124. Statistics of Upper Prince Street School, and further remarks, we are compelled to hold over. PRIZES AND ADDRESSES. At one o’clock a very pleasing entertain- ment commenced in the upper hall of the Prince Street School. Among those pres- ent we noticed Hon. Senator Haviland, Hon. L. H. ONE of the rarest musical treats ever our citizens had the pleasure of witnessing, was given on the occasion of the closing exer- cises at the Convent de Notre Dame, which (took place last evening. The pupils were assisted in the concert by Mr. Vinnicombe, some of the most prominent members of the St. Dunstan’s choir, and several distin- guished vocalists of this city. The hall was well filled with a select and appreciative audience, who listened with attention to the sweet vocal and instrumental music which was discoursed during the evening The following is the programme :— | 1st.
