Hinges, Fox Touggcic. x _ The. . , 7 1-. daughter of the late Dougald Camp- bell of North Lake, and was a lady of many estimable qualities of mind and heart, had nobly fulfilled the duties of the responsible wife and mother; the wise council, tender solicltude, silent but earnest prayer, and countless unseen virtues of the humble Christian mother had al- ready borne fruit in hcr family and must be an influence and inspira- tion to them in the future moulding of their character and destiny. ‘Deceased lady was the soul of hos- pitality and in her home, even peo- ple who entered as strmgers, found themselves part of the family circle, without realizing it until they took their departure with the promise and wish to soon return. Her death was calm and peaceful, as beflttcd a fervent member who had persevered in the Faith. She was frequently visited by her ever kind and devoted pastor, Rev. R. J. Macdonald, who administered the Holy Sacraments. She also had the consolation of a week's visit from her two daughters who are members of religious 0r- ders, but who were obliged to return prior to her demise. Her serious illness was cf brief duration, during which time she had every medical attention and loving - care, allabsent members of the fam- ily had journeyed home. Her daugh- ter Katherine, who is a registered nurse, was constantly at her bedside, A alleviating the pains and discom- fcrts, which she bore with patience and resignation. Her funeral to St. Columbia, Fair- fleld, heldon Saturday, March 15th, was largely attended despite the very unfavorable weather and con- dition of roads. . Pall bearers were: Messrs. J. E. Inman, St. Catherincs, was completely destroyed by fire. The blaze, which wasbf unknown origin, was discovered about 2 p. m., and had made such headway that in save the building was impossible. Owing to a sale in an adjacent district help was not available. The loss is estim- ated at between $5,000 and 86,000, only a. very small part of which was covered by insurance.
