In spite of the heavy track and the rain which fell at the time, the sport was good. The crowd behaved well, and the horses were started about haif- past twoin the afternoon. Shortly after the start, Royal Dean broke badly and could not be brought down till the finish, giving the heat to Sporter decisively. In the second heat Royal Dean did splendid work, and came inabout a chain a head amid great enthusiasm. The same order was maintained in the third and fourth heats, giving the game to Dean, and the Messrs.
