The most remarkable thing about the Kansas clubwoman ta the awe ln- aplrlng, all embracingnesa of her knowl- edge. She knows all about Buddha, Browning or buckwheat cakes and can ` talk with equal fluency about the high- er criticism or the hired girl. She can tell you with the same readiness the data ot the Italian renaissance or the day and hour when her ilrst baby cuter its nrst tooth. She is equally capable of figuring out the next transit of Venus or of cutting a shirt waist from 11 yard and three-quarters ,ot goods by a pattern that 'calls tor three yahk and a halt. Unlike Horatio, there are few things in heaven or mirth of which her philosophy has not dreamed, and what she has “dared to dream of she has dared to do.” Public parks and foun- _ talna, klndergartena and restrooms for farmers’ wives, industrial schools, trav- eling libraries and art galleries, schol- arships ln high schools and unlveral ties, improved civic conditions and beautllled scltoolrooins-these are some ottbadreamsallehastranstormedlnto realities, and hefwork taonlywell be- gun. The envelope should match the paper used and be of such size that one folding only _is necessary. e There is a variety of novel shades in both paper and envelopes that have re- ceived the stamp ot approval, aiid, while a creamy white is perhaps given . the preference, many choose pale blue, gray or pink. Violet ln a delicate tone and white bordered with a color are also correct. Originality in these papers is achiev- ed in the shape of the sheet and envel- ope. Both square and oblong envel- opes are used, and the nap may be in some fancy shape. A decided novelty is a very thin white envelope lined with colored tissue paper. _ Royal Irish linen and bond papers are perhaps the finest grades, though Imperial vellum in glaee or kid tlnlsh is preferred by many. Pongee bond and linen lawn papers are smart and are shown in the daintiest ot tints and in cream white as well. Those who pre- fer a thin paper will appreciate the Egyptian linen. _ The address die stamps the paper at _the center near the top ot the iirst page,`but when a Celt is used. the ad- dress is written at the right hand, ex- cept for xl note, when it is given at the end a line above the date. To Clean the Toilet Coll. There is nothing that I know of that is more trouble to keep clean than the toilet combs, but I havedlscovered a very easy and quick way 'tp _effectually clean them. I take either a tooth or nail brush that has been laid aside from the use for which it was intended and dip it in kerosene oil. then I_ brush the comb from the back downward to the point of the teeth, not letting I single space escape; then when it is 'cleanItakaaclea'n.dryclot__hallwipe Pot! -the dlf»orL“ “"°~ lf. nasqndan 'J Unsurpassedlbcation leined.ll10)1natin m_ Tennis BasketB¢1l,Hocxey ¢-,_.;F°0rcatalogueaad‘t¢rms éufla E awry Point Ferry.
