Some people in this residence are up in arms because of this discrimination. Something has got to be 7 done! If there aren't any fenale Dons there by next year, protests areinminent. Blanchard Hall has 241 students (give or take a few), 116 of whom are fenale. Now is there any just reason why there are no fenale Dons there? (No, the fact that the guys Slightly outnumber the girls is not a just reason!) . The main excuse seens to be that none of the females who applied for the job were sufficiently qualif- ied. What exactly are the qualifications for ’ being a Don anyway? Male, athletic and good looking? or a» good course V average, one year of living in residence, and good communication skills? ‘ The UPEI- Sun aims There sure must be a lot of useless fenales out there if none of them met any of these qualifications. ' Dons are supposed (to be there to consult residents on an individual, student to student basis; But, ' * lhow many 0f yOu residence students out there * know who your Dons are?"] a 1 And how many of you girls would even dare to.venture near one of your male ' Dons if you had a perso problem? ' ~ 7 - ,7 Since Blanchard Hall is "' a oo-ed resndence,. r' > doesn't it seen logical“- that there should be an equal number of male and fénale Dons? So let's see ‘an end to this inequality and have two female Dons in Blanchard Hall next year- ' by Margaret Koren tc be an ' paper published weekly by the UPEI' student ' Union .
