Provincial Secretary's Office, ) Prince Kdward Island, > lay 22, 1-94. j be due on Ist June, ANGUS Netice to Commercial Travellers The attention of Commercial Travellers is called to the following sections of an Act missed by the Legisiative Assembly of Prince tdward Isiand, Session 18%, intitaled “An Act to Impose a Direct tax on Certain Classes of Traders ":— “From and after the passing of this Art every casual trader not permanently residing in this Province doing business within this Province, commonly known as “ Commercial Travellers,’ and every person not permanent- ly residing in this Proviner, and who welig either for himself or any other person any goods, wares or mere hancdize in this Provinee, or solicits or canvasses tor orders eit for himselfor any other person for the sale, ex- change or purchase of any goods, wares or merehandize w.thin this Provinee, either by the production of sam pies, photographs, cata- logues, printed or written matter, or simply by word of mouth without the production of samples, photographs, catalogues, printed or writte na: utter, shall, before “he or she enters upon the business of sO selling any goods, wares or mercehandize, or soliciting or can- vassing for such orders, pay to the Provincial Treasurer of this Provinee an annual ileense fee or direct tax of fifteen dollars.” 2 “Upon payraent of the said license fee or direct tax, the said Provinelal Treasurer shail grant a license authorizing the pereon therein named tore!l goods, wares and mer chand ze in this Province, and to solicit and canvass fo: orders for the sale, exchange er purchase of goods, wares and merehandige within this lrovinee.
