Aug. 11. 1915. were ,passed awny in the person of Thomas P. Cass, North lliver, one of the best ,known and highly esteemed residents of that district. in his kindly iiospit- able home when every one was wel- comed. and in the ioinmunity at large where he was always foremost in every progressive work that stood for the betternient of the people. he will be n.ucli raised. His generous sacrifice of ii beautiful home and de- voted wife and family. When God called him in the prime of life. and the fervor of his final preparation, iwhen receiving the last sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church both edified his sorrowiiig family and friends who surrounded his bedside. and gave promise of a happy eternity. He leaves to mourn besides his wid- ow seven sons and three daughters all in the homestead, also a sister Mrs. M. Batteries were:- Red Sox, McQuarrie, and Mouiitaln. independents, Morrison and Thompson By winning this game the Independ- ents are the Champions for the season having won two out of three games. C. -A DROP IN EGGS.-Mr. Aubin J.. Gallant egg collector was at Wiel- llngtonlast week with a load of eggs. lt seems that his horse was well se~ cured while he was doing business in the store. In some unaccountable way however, the animal started with the load at a good speed. till at a sudden turn the waggon and its contents ,were upset in the gutter thereby pre- venting the horse from going any further. The result was not as disas- trous as anticipated however, for on examination Mr. Gallant found only about eight dozen broken. M. i -TRAIN DERAILED.-A serious run-off occurred at the railway wharf, Summerside, at 7 o’clock last even- ing. While the Eastern train was backing down the wharf, engine num- ber 29 left the rails near the upper end of the coal shed. all the trucks oi' the engine being well clear oi’ the rails, while the cars and tender. which preceded the engine, kept the rails. A wrecking train was ordered out from Charlottetown, and arrived about 11.10. Considerable inconven- ience was experienced by the railway people in transferring the mails to tho express and baggage from the boat to the Western train, which was sent to Charlottetown, taking the place oi' the disabled train. The wrecking train which brought carriages with her pro- ceeded West, leaving about 11.30.-C. -MALPEQUE.-The farmers of this locality have taken advantage of the splendid haying weather and near- ly all are done.
