Exhibition ‘Of A Pupils’ Vlorli Al S'side__Schoo| A splendid eadubitiori of pupils‘ work in connection with education week is on view in the auditorium of the Bummerside High School. A lerie number of people have visit- ed the school and have had the ex- hlblte explained to them by the supervisor. Mr. Clarence Mercer and other members of the teach- ing staitf. The projects on display are very interesting, particularly the class projects. one of which has been completed by each class up to grade nine. These productions depict in visual form a lesson in history. geography or natural science and by this means the in- terest of the pupils in the subject amd their imagination have been stimulated and they have been given an opportunity to work with their hands. As it is a cooperative effort they also learn valuable lessons in working together. These projects are a bit difficult to describe but there was a very interesting one on houses and in this one various types of shelters used by peoples in different times were built in miniature. Another interesting one was on lumbering where the whole process was shown and there was even a little electric saw inside the mill some of the others bore such titles as: The Flag Goes By, Can- adian Authors, Hunter's Paradise. The Story crf wheat, Hiawatha and His Friends, Farm Animals etc. ' There was an excellent display of articles made in the domestic science class under the supervision Miss Ruby Mac- Neiil. Blouses. skirts, petticoats. pajamas, nigl:~iigown-3 and other items of clothing made by the girls for their own use testified to the value of this course. 0! much interest also. was the display of articles made by the boys in the woodworking depart- ment. These included lamps, tables. smoking stands and many other artlclu that showed fine work- manship. Mr. John Leuty is the instructor in this department.
