It is common for both these species to appear in high numbers periodically. Flying Squirrel - 1 at feeder at Baldwin's Road, December 27 (GS) Red Squirrel - high numbers of squirrels were reported at feeders in Queens and Kings Counties. Several at one feeder at a time were not uncommon.
