Lake Huron sailed yes- torday afternoon from this port for Liverpool this being the first outward trip of the direct service this season. Though the steamer was but 42 hours in port. and part of that time was oc- cupied in discharging freight, she was loaded to her full capacity before sailing. Her cargo valued at $75000 was made up of ;-attle, sheep, poultry, eggs, canned goods and vari- ous farm products elsewhere enume- rated' The promptness with which this large steamship was fully loaded and despatched tells its own story of how 1 the direct service is seized u on and ,pers. The accommodation for live lstock on the Lake Huron is very favorably spoken of by those most in: terested, and there is little doubt that when her next trip is made, ,about the first of December she will again have a full deck load, as well as an entire cargo up to her carrying capacity. A Montreal despatch tells that Col . lYule, who succeeded General Quebec, who who was formerly a sei eur there Oliice down tothe 25th was 679, l8; wounded 55; men killed 76; men doing the Island for fall business.
