Losses were general throughout the list with the index of 10 util- ities and 20 industrials dropping .5 to 60.2. Volume picked up slightly from the past few days but the total turnover was still consider- ably below normal. Scattered buying of a few select- ed issues again marked the session and a number of new highs were chalked up by specialties. In gen- eral, however-the market mood here was dictated by Wall Street. which was still burdened by the uncertainties of the gold claiise cases. Reasonably optimistic econ- omic news failed to stir traders and they appeared unwilling to make current commitments. Dominion Glass Preferred put in its initial appearance of the month to‘ jump 3 points to a new top of 11B while Dominion Textile Preferred rose 8 points to a record high of 145. Canadian Celanese Preferred was another issue to touch a new top, gaining a point one or two more showed minor fractional gains, Total sales were: shares; bonds $16,605. stocks 8,526 Cu rren ciss (Canadian Prom-i) Nlill’ YORK.
