A telegram received to-day says that the Sandinian was safely towed into Moville on Wednesday. A tele from West River announces the death of Mr. Alex. McKay, M. P. P. Lonpon, Feb 16. An explosion eccurred at Brindon Grande, Durham, to-day, in which 120 persons were imprisoned in the mine. Thirty imprisoned workmen were reseued. Foul gas, resulting from the, explosien, caused the death of four persons in another colliery two miles distant. Mr, Gladstone entered the House of Commons at 10 o'clock this evening, and eloquently defended the Irish policy of the Government. In the parliamentary election at Taun- ton, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sir Wm.
