John Prince was perhaps _mg oldest clergyman in Westmorland county. He was born in Moncton on the 11th of June, 1820, and his 80th birthday, which occurred last June, was ma_de the occasion of a very pleasant re-'S nmon by many of his friends. He was then in the enjoyment of very good health, mid few expected that- he would so soon te called to join the great ma- jority. Uf him it- may truly be said that a. good man has been called hence. The Rev. John Prince was lineally descended and of the eighth generation from Rev. John Prince, graduate of Oxford, who ln the early part of the seventeenth cen- tury was rector of East Stafford, Berk-' shire County, England. His wife was the daughter of Dr. Tolbeny. The eld- est of his sons, John Prince, junior, having spent two or three years at Ox- ford university, emigrated to Massa.- chusetts in 1633, and is the ancestor of most of those who bear his name in New England and the British Provinces. The clergyman, just deceased, was a. son of the late Thos. Prince, Esq., and received his early education partly in such a college as then existed in Moncton and partly at Frederiction under the direction of the late Fredric Miles and the late Charles Tupper, D. D. In the year 1896 Mr. Prince was received on trial by the Bri- took plaaa at Boston on Sunday,Scpt. 9th. < Iethodist adnirs in than eolonios, bling " _ _ appointed to the Povrnd circuit inf _ TH! .Annual meeting of tha ‘ Teachers’ ‘prince Edward wma; and the » Association of P.
