WILLIAM JAY 1001-1962 Relatives and friends were deep- ly shocked to learn of the sud- den passing of Mrs. (Conductor) William Jay in the Charlottetown Hospital on Wednesday, March 18th, after a brief illness. The late Mm July was widely known throughout the Province. and ac. qulred a host of friends by her cheerful disposition and amiable manner. She was an active mem- ber of the C. W. L. and the St. Dunstan's Basillca' Altar Society. The late Mrs. Jay was the form- er Anne Regina Grant, daughter of the late Alfred J. Grant for- mer well known merchant of Mt. Stewart. She leaves to mourn be- sides her sorrowing husband, one daughter (Madelyn) Mrs. J. Henry Douoette, and one son, William M., both residing in Charlottetown. and three sisters. Mrs. Eugene Wynne and Mrs. Hubert Muttart. both of Charlottetown and Mrs. Ronald MacDonald of Mt. Stewart. The funeral was held from her late residence at 281 Euston street ,on Saturday. March 22nd, to St. Dunstan's Basilica, where Solemn Mass of Requiem was sung by Rev. Francis Corcoran. assisted by Rev. Francis Boise; as Deacon and Rev. James smith, Sub Deacon. Mr. Frank Maclntyre and Mr. Albert Blanchard assisted in the choir. The funeral was under the direc- tion of Mr. N. D. MacLeim and" was largely attended. The pall- bearers were: Messrs. Michael Mooney, Thomas Dickie, Lloyd Simpson. Salem Korrey, Wilfred MacLean and Rudolph Doiron. interment was in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
