Mayer Thomas Seatence i. Haurrax, April 25. Mayor Thomas, of Truro, appeared be- fore the bar of the House of Assembly Saturday night and was sentenced to forty- eight hours in jail for contempt. The greatest interest was manifested inthe case, and the excitement in and about the Par- lament building on Saturday evening was intense. A large delegation from Truro was present who cheered the Mayor lustily ss he was hustled cif to his dungeon cell. The case comes before the Supreme Court on habeas corpus this morning.
