Test By CHRIS ANNETT Boston Bruins named Harry Sinden as their coach for 1966 yesterday afternoon and to many people the name will undoubtedly be sfar from familiar. However he appears to ae the necessary traits to haul the Bruins out of the cellar. ; In the past season he: led the Oklahoma Blazers to the Central Professional playoff championships after they had finished second. in league.play and this in itself speaks well , of his qualifications. Boston has put the emphasis on youth in the past year and Sinden is certainly accustomed.,to work- ing with younger players. All teams in the Central Pro loop are forced by league rules to calry a set amount of players under. 23 years of age and obviously Sinden has had’ success working with the younger players. (ie. they'll do a Carl Brewer). While on the subject of Brewer (amazing how I can getr. away from the. subject in hand). it was confirmed that the New York Rangers had offered the Leafs defenseman Harry Howell just for the rights to negotiate with brewer. ee the Leafs would -have nothing to do. with the plan. T. wonder ,where they were in thé, Montreal series.’ Anyway the whole sum and. total of the hot words: was that Imlach apologized _for_‘‘offending’’ the Wings and asked for it to be left at that. : As-I mentioned before it will be: interesting to see if My Sinden can steer clear of the muddy’ waters of the coaching © trade, ’ t 5 x - f . § ‘ ONG Pm be ‘
