It was greatly appreciated by the large
audienc a that filled the church. The
programme. consisting of solos, duetts,
choruses, recitatiens and'dialogues, was
all that could be dc-ired. Miss Annie
Smith presided efficiently at the organ,
and was assisted by a large choir of
young people that would be hard to ex-
cel anywhere. Mr. Fraser of Picton
was present and the interest of the oc-
casion was increased by the selections
he generously furnished with tl e
graphaphone. The pastor, Rev. Thos.
Hicks, presided, and during the even-
ing delivered an address oi the Mis-
sionary Work of the Church. The col-
lection taken up amounted to nearly
seven dollars.

until January last had she been con-
fined to her room. Even in the midst
of such suffering her pleasant, cheerful

wants. It was indeed a joy to hear oi
har perfect assurance in the atonement
of Csirist, the Saviour. To her sorrow-
ing parents and sisters we extend our
sincere sympathy. ever remembering
that God giveth rest,-rest from all sor-

from all possible sighing and tears,

THE town was saddened on Wednes-
dsy morning last by news of the death
of Mrs. S. Martin. She had been in
irl health for over two years but not
until the last three weeks when she was
seized with an attack of pleurisy, was
her life despaired of. She passed away
about 7 o’c1tck on Wednesday morning.
