Deceased had been in failinl health for the past three years. About six weeks before his death, be contracted a cold. Hopes were enter- tained for his recovery but later complications set in which necessi- tated his removal to the Charlotte- town Hospltal for a slight operation. All that medical skill and kind nursing could do, could not stay the, Hand of God. Deceased was eighty-six years old- He was the son of the late James and Margaret Murphy and was born the old homestead, till he moved to Charlottetown eight years ago. He was a good citizen, a kind and ob- liging neighbour and will be greatly missed by a large number of friends both town and country. In the family circle he will be sadly missed as he was a kind and loving father. During his illness he was attended by his devoted and beloved pastor Rev. Father McGreel. C. SS. R. who vis- iced him often ln his trying illness and administered to him the last‘ Sacraments of ths Church of which he was always e. devoted member. He is survived by a family of one son and three daughters, his wife, having predeceased him eleven years‘ ago. The daughters are: Mrs. W. P. Hackctt of Jamaica, Plains, Mass; the Misses Mary E. and Priscilla at hnmc and Joseph, also eight grand His funeral took place on Sunday Holy Redeemer. Services being con- ducted by Rev. Father Enright, C. SS. R. who also conducted the services at the grave. The pail bearers were Percy Man- uel, Fred Renouf, William Morgan, James Mahar, Hugh MacKinnon and _ Moses Byrne.
