Have you ever thought about studying at another university, oh say - one in the United States or the United Kingdom? Well, now you have and what a time it would be ... a new and different country, culture, and university (with all that fun stuff included!) to explore and learn about. There are a number of differ- ent exchange progams that UPEI is involved with and that YOU, UPEI students, have the oppor- tunity to participate in. One such exchange is the International Stu- dents Exchange Program (ISEP) which organizes exchanges be- tween Canadian and American insiuions for students who are en- tering thei second or third year of university study. We zlso have greements with universities in the United Kingdom, such as, The University of Dundee. Think about it... studying fo a yea at the University of South Car- olina (and soaking up some sun), or maybe at Eastern Nwe Mex- ico University (snoozing ugder a sombraro), or abroad in the September 6th is the BIG DAY Frosh, so get your yer-selves psyched for a FUN day of meet- ing people, loads of laughs, and ' shining shoes. You have heard or will be hearing many people talk about _Shinerama during Frosh Week, “but what is it all about? Shin- ‘erama is a national event that occurs every year during Frosh Week, at over 60 Canadian Uni- - yersities. Frosh travel throughout — ‘their city, town, and/or commu- - _” nities shining shoes for Cystic Fi-— British Isles (doing the Highland Fling. Sounds like a plan! These students will be study- ing at UPEI for teh next two semesters, so make an effort to meet and welcome these people to out province and university. This is our challenge to you. : UPEI Shinerama ‘89 has been fomally challenged by Brandon Univesity. The school with the highest percentage increase over last year’s Shinerama evenue will be declared the winner. As well, This year three UPEI stidents will be participating in Student Exchanges within the United States. These students will be do- ing their third year of study at a selected university. Mike Driscoll will be attending the University of South Florida, Adam Gabriel will be at Ball State University, and Jennifer Green will be at- tending sunny Charleston Uni- versity in South Carolina.
