EASTERN PAINTED TURTLE FOUND Last spring two children, Victoria and David Kayo, found a large (approx. 7" long and 5" wide) eastern painted turtle at the Southport Fish Hatcheries Pond. It had crawled up on shore and was sunning itself when the kids found it. They took pictures, then let it go, but they've seen it several times since. There's probably only the one, and perhaps it was brought from out of province and released, but it seems to have set up housekeeping at the pond. V». .2 5.
