(By D. A. MacK.) As we stand on the threshold of the New Year we pause to look back in review on the doings in Harness Horse Racing on Maritime tracks the past season. We find that more tracks were operating. with more racing, and that greater numbers of people passed through the turn- stiles. This feature of our sport was not confined to the Maritimes, the same thing was evidenced in Quebec and Ontario. It just shows that our people, with their war worries, require amusement and relaxation. Harness rac- ing brings them out into the open and furnishes healthy excitement that stimulates and serves to drive away care and worry from the mind.
