The receipts in cash were $247.61,and disbursements $205.02, leaving a balance of $42.59 in the hands of the Treasurer. The Society was not called upon to purchase much fuel, Mr. Owen Connolly, as usual, having donated upwards of one hundred tons of coal, and a quantity of blankets to be distributed to the poor of all denominations. No greater boon, no more beneficial relief than fuel can be bestowed during the cold winter months, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, on behalf of the suffering poor of Charlottetown, have reason to be grateful to Mr. Connolly for his generous assistance. The poor will be pleased to learn that Mr. Connolly has donated a further supply of coal and blankets fer the coming winter. This Society has done a great amount of good during the past eight years in alleviat- ing the wants of the poor, and deserves the confidence and assistance wf our citizens. At this season of the year, when so many of our poor are in need it would be well to remember the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and contribute more or less of our means to enable its members.to go on with the good work of St. Vincent .de Paul.
