Land well cultivated and kept clean year after year has fewer weeds and is easier to} cultivate. Butter makers are warned to soak and not steam their tubs. When steamed it is difficult to get the butter out. Clover makes excellent silage when it is put up properly, but it requires careful handling and heavy weighting, or it is liable to spoil. We have no doubt that mony horses are fed too much. It is worth while to experi ment to see if your horse will not do az well or better on less food. The man who complains that his cows are unruly can safely be set down as a poor farmer, and very often he is a cruel one, who deserves punishment. Most unruly cows are made so by hunger.
