YESTERDAY EVENING some unknown mis- creant poured a quantity of blue paint into | the pump on Queen street, opposite George Davies & Co.’s store. Fortunately the mischief was discovered and the handle taken from the pump. Had it not been discovered befere nightfall and were water drawn from the pump and used, ‘very ser- ious consequences would doubtless have followed.
