Buster C took a bad fall ill Thrilling Racing Meet At Summerside Saturday 1 Before a crowd estimated about 3.000 the finest racing of the year was staged at the Summerside Raceway Saturday night. The weather was ideal for night racing and the large crowd was treated to some exciting challenges down the back stretch, and s-pine-tingling allout drives to the wire. In the first race Sandy Marr was in second position round the last turn but beat the field by more than a length in the sll-etch. The Robiohaud mare was set back to second position. however, for in- terference on the first turn, and Frisco the Great. the horse finish- ing second, was declared the dash zvinner. Don MacNeill of Summerside. driver of Frisco the Great, won four out of eight dashes on the night's card. He piloted the Frisco horse. Mag. and in two dashes Peter Cle-gg lender the wire In front. Tyndall Semple, veteran Kensing- ton reinsman. won two dashes. and Clayton MacLecd of Truro. after having suffered a leg injury when the fourth race, guided Iola Henley un- der the wire ahead in the two dashes on the featured clxssl mce. Mrs. Manning. as- sistant supervisor gave a demon- stration on home sewing and re- ported on the handicraft van. She thanked the different Institutes for their co-operation and congratu- lated Uniollvale on their garden club and Cape Wolfc on their sew- ing club. She reported that teach- ers would go out with the handl- craft van and would give ilLstrllc- lions on weaving leather as well as sewing.
