The wholesale rumsellers of other pro-
vinces are sending circulers to farmers
throughout P. E. Island, offering special
cases of assorted liquor at reduced prices.
The Island Province, with the exception
of Charlottetown, is under prohibition
or the Scott Act. An amendment of the
Act,to meet the case of these outside
rumsellers who seek to carry on their had
traffic in defiance of law, is in order.--- `

The St. John Sun says: Mr. George
Clarke, the west side horseman, arrived
from Nova Scotia a few days ago with a
stringof fast horses. The list includes
Elmoro, 2%, a handsome and slick going
pscer, purchased from Dr. Bowles, who-
has for years been one of the _most exten-ly
ive’ horse breeders in the lower provinces. I
Elmoro is comparatively young and his
present owner is confident he can beat his _
mark. If an opportunity presents itself
the Nova Scotia pacer will be seen on the
speedway before the winter closes. Wild-
wood, 2.45, and a get of Black Pilot, are
among other horses brought from the
sister province by Mr. Clarke.
