You may not be aware that the status of your character is often estimated by your deportment toward the aged, toward your father and mother, your brother and sisters. You would be ashamed to re- ceive a favor from a stranger, or acquaint- ance, without a pleasant ‘Thank you, nor would you forget the gractous * Beg your pardon” at some mishap or mis- understanding. And who among all your friends is so worthy of these little ament- ties of life, as the dear, kind father, and the tender, loving mother, who have so ceaselessly cared tor you ? ; QO, dear girls, wy eyes grow misty as I think of the many homes where the weary father returns at night, and though the youngest may receive with boistrous car- resses—the older ones, (the young men and women of the household), have scarcely a word of welcome for him. Now I can- not think they do not love him, but they are heedless, careless, little thinking how it would cheer his heart to be greeted with loving words and smiles. Let the fire of love burn brightly on the domestic altar! When the father returns heated and weary trom his labor in the ficlds, in the couating-room or In the shop greet him with a smile and a kiss; have the comfortable slippers and dressing: gown waiting by bis easy chair ; let him see that you appreciate his labors for you, and your heart is full of love forhim. It will be a wonderful panacea for his tired body and brain, and his eye will kindle and heart thrill with joy as be gazed in the bright faces of thes ‘ treasures of his household.’’? And there are so many ways to make mother’s burdens lighter, if you once begin to search them out, and you will be surprised to see how cheerful and blest your own hearts will become in watching her dear face grow brighter, and the shades of care grow so often lift- ed by your helpful hanas and heerts. If there are “little ones” in your home, don’t think because they are little they have no rights. Don’t drive them out of every pleasant nook and easy chair as ‘though their feelings were worthy of no consideration, or as though they had no feelings whatever. Remember that your words and conduct will be reffected in their lives. If the “big sisters ”’ are coarse and rough in conversation and manners, and disrespectful to their parents, the younger ones will surely catch the same spirit. You may help to create in the home an atmosphere of checrfulness, love and beautiful refine- ment, that will be felt by even the rough and boorish, or you make ita place of discord, coldness, fault finding and misery. Which shall it be dear girls? oo Enjoy Life. What a truly beautiful world we live in Nature gives us grandeur of mountains, glens and oceans, and thousands of means for eijoyment. We can desire no better when in perfect health ; but how often do the majority of people feel like giving 1t up disheartened, discouraged and worried out with disease, when there is no occasion for this feeling, as every sufferer can easily ob- tain satisfactory proof that Green’s August Flower will make them as free from disease as when born. Dyspepsia and Liver Com- plaint are the direct cause of seventy-five percent. of such maladies as Biliousness, Indigestion, Sick Headache, Costiveness, Nervous Prostration, Dizziness of the Head, Palpitation of the Heart, and other distress- ing symptoms. Three doses of August Flower will prove its wonderful effect Sample bottles, 10 cents. Try it. —_——__ —____-_< 2+ <p -o enn THE CAMPAIGN Facts for the Electors. In the coming elections it is of the greatest importance that every elector should be well informed on matters connected with the Ad ministration of the past five years. With this object in view, a series of political tracts are being issued from the GazeErre office at Mon- treal, which are carefully prepared, moderate in tone, and the statements and charges con- tained in them are verified im all cases by reference to official documents and blue-books submitted to Parliament. No greater service can be done to any constituency than a gen- eral circulation of the facts contained in these papers, and the publishers have wisely placed them ata price that brings them within the reach of every Conservative Association, and every constituency. We advise our leading politicians in every school section to send for a hundred of these tracts and distribute them carefully where they will be read. It is the best way to convey a clear and concise view of the political situation, and must result in bringing about an intelligent verdict in the coming elections. There are many politicians who are unable to spare time from their busi- ness totake an active part in the canvass but such men can well afford to spend a dol lar in circulating information among their neighbors. -H. There never has been a time when the heal- ing of so many different diseases has been caused by outward application as the present. It is an undisputed fact that over half of the entire pepuiation of the globe resort to the use of ordinary plasters. Dr. MELYIN’S CApsicuM Porous PLASTERS are acknowledged by all who have used them, to act quicker than any other plaster they ever before tried, and that one of these plasters will do more real service than a hundred of the ordinary kind. All other plasters are slow of action, and require to be worn continually to effect acure; but with these it is entirely dif- ferent: the instant one is applied the patient will feel its effect. Physiciansin all ages have thoroughly tested and well know the effect of Capsicum; and it has always been more or less used as a medical agent for an outward application; but it is only of very recent date that its advan- tages in a porous plaster have been discovered. Being, however, convineed of the wonderful eures effected by Dr, MELVIN’S CAPSICUM Porovcs PLASTERS, and their superiority over all other plasters, they now actually prescribe them, in their practice, for such diseases as rheumatism, pain in the side and back, and all such cases as have required the use of plasters orliniment. After you have tried other plas- ters and liniments, and they have failed, and you want a certain cure, ask your druggist for Dr. MELVrN’s CAPSICUM POROUS PLASTER. You can hardly believe yourown convictions of its wonderful effects. Although powerful and quick in its action, you can rely on its safety for the most delicate person to wear, as it is free from lead and other poisonous material commonly used in the manufacture ef ordin- ary plasters. One trial is a sufficient guarantee of its merits, and one plaster will sell hundreds to your friends. Ask your druggist for DR. MELVIN’s CAPsI- cuM Porous PLASTER, and take no other; or, on receipt of 25 cents for one, $1 for five, or $2 for a dozen, they will be mailed, post paid, to any address in the United States or Canadas.
