Mr, Mr. John Lockerby, of this city, com pleted his one hundredth birthday today. A good many of his friends éalled upon him at the residence of his son in- law, Mr. T. B. Alchorn, ard extended their congratulations upon the interesting occasion. Telegrams and letters of con- gratulation were also received, and Lord and Lady Aberdeen, who called upon the old gentleman during their last visit to Charlottetown, sent a scuyenir of the s¢ason, Mr. Lockerby was born io Annon, Scot land. From Annon he went io Glasgow where he learned the trade of iron founder. From Glasgow he came to Canada, land- ing at Miramichi. From Miramichi he came to this province, locating at Caven- dish where he resided for some time. Then he came to Charlottetown, taking up his abode with his son-in-law, Mr. Alchoro, where he is receiving every possible kindness and attention, When a representative of THe Examiner called upoa the old gentleman this forenoon to extend his congratulations le found him in bed suffering from a slight attack of bronchitis which he was hopefal would pass away ina few days.
