A very large crowd was in attendance. Quiet music. played by the Mur- ray H-arbour North Church organ- ist, Mrs. Annie Kennedy. opened the Rally Day service. followed by the call to worship. invocation. and the hymn "Ail Pecple That on Earth Do Dwell". The scripture lesson, psaim 1i8:i9-24. was then read respon- sively after which Rev, Herdmnn led in prayer. ' W The hymn "I Love To Hear The Story" was then sung followed by the scripture reading and player by Rev. Mr. Herdman. P.P.. has returned from a short business trip to Boston where he attend- ed the annual meeting of the Morell Club of Boston. He re- ports a very pleasant trip. For years this -vicinity was with- out n shoe doctor and many thought he was not needed. Cox returned on Thursday night from Winnipeg. where he attended lhe good roads convention. Looking over some of the fine work done on the roads since he took office he could give the convention some good sound advice on road bulld- mg. It is with very deep and sin- cere regret that Bristol learned of the passing of Mr. Lester Doug- las, M.P. Mr. Douglas has scores of friends and relatives in this vicinity and his assistance in many matters. especially to farmers and school teachers will be sorely mis- sed. . Friends here of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. O'Brien and family will be sorry to see them return to their home in the city this week after five months at their summer house here. Father from the day he left Canada early in April of this year. to his return home in June. This splendid lec- ture was so educational that It is hoped Father Murray will come again to this vicinity. Specialties before and after the lecture in- eluded many fine numbers by Frank Flood a noted singer from the city. He was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Frank Murray. city. Other specialties were a line exhibition of step-dancing in the old fashioned style by Miss Shelia Gauthier. and Mr: Stephen Larkln of this vicinity. A new insurance policy was presented, and trustees for the hall appointed.
