A.trreD Horneand his oldest son, William, appeared before the Stipendiary Magistrate, this forenoop, charged with stealing a wheel- barrow, a quantity of flour and several other articles from Mr, H. Palmer’s burned premises. The larceny of the wheelbarrow was clearly proven against William, and he was sentenced to six months imprisonment, with hard labor. Alfred, his father, was acquitted. Tus steamer ‘‘ Worcester” sailed for Bes- ton on Thursday evening, with a cargo con- sisting of 1,367 boxes, 262 bags potatoes, 477 cases and 16 barrels eygs, 6 barrels caliskins, 405 hides and 80 barrels alewives, valued at $9,207. She had also onboard the following passengers :—Miss E. Cameron, Mr. Geo. Murray, R. Bullman, Geo. A. Craswell, Miss Annie Craswel!, S. Farquharson; and Miss Kate Taylor. Alfred Farmer, a bey about fourteen years of age, was very drunk when arrested. He is a_ noted young vagrant, and the Magistrate sent him up for four months, with hard labor. John Brogan, a boy seemingly the same age as l'armer, was also drunk at the time of arrest. He will accompany Farmer for 20 days. James Goodman and Daniel McDonald, two well known corner loafers, were each sentenced to two months with hard labor for vagrancy.
