General Post Ofiice at Charlottetown); and such officers are hereby strictly forbidden to subscribe or permit their names to be subscribed to any cover or packet except such as shall i have relation to such business ; and if such ofiieer shall knowingly cause or permit to be sent under any such cover any letter, paper or writing, or any enclosure having no relation to any such business connected with such Society, the officer so offending shall forfeit and pay a sum not ex- ceeding the sum of one hundred pounds, which may be sued for and recovered in Her Majesty’s Supreme Court of J udi- cature at Charlottetown, and which shall be forfeited to Her Majesty, her heirs and successors ; and if any letter, paper or writing, or other enclosure, shall be sent under cover to any of the said officers of such Society, the same having no relation to the business of such Society, such oflicer so re— ceiving the same is hereby strictly required to transmit the same forthwith to the Postmaster General, with the covers under which the same shall be sent, in order that the con- tents thereof may be charged with the full rates of postage. XXXIV. It shall be lawful for any witness to swear to the execution of any mortgage or further charge, or memo- rial, or for any mortgagee to acknowledge the execution of any mortgage, further charge, or memorial before any Commissioner appointed for the purpose of taking acknow- legements of Deeds; and the Registrar of Deeds is hereby required to register such memorial, and to endorse such certificate upon every mortgage or further charge so sworn to or acknowledged before any such Commissioner.
