A similar body has been acting in an advisory capacity since 1919. At the recently-concluded session of Parliament the board was estab- lished on a statutory basis to com- memorate the achievements of dis- tinguished Canadians. The Dominion archivist, Dr. W. Junior Ladies' Aid Holds Annual Meeting The seventh annual meeting of the Junior Aid of the Prince Ed- ward Island Hospital was held at the Cundall Home May 11th. The meeting opened with the Lord's prayer repeated in unison. The minutes of the April meeting and the last annual meeting were read and adopted. Mrs. T. A. Laid- law welcomed the guests from the LadIes' Aid, after which the treas- urer's report was read by Mrs. J. O. MacLeari, showing a bank bal- ance of 31,161.27. A very pleasant dinner bridge for the models was held at Keppoch Beach Hotel in June. Our first Fall activity was the League of Mercy Ten and Display which was held October 28th, at the Cundall Home. Mrs. Lewis Turner ably convened this project with Mrs. William Hambly her assistant. "Mrs. James Power and Mrs. Elmer Sutherland were our repre- sentatives at the Maritime Hos- pital Association Convention held in St. Andrew's, N. 13., in June. A report on this convention was given at the October meeting by Mrs. Power. We all regretted the resignation of our President, Mrs. Kent Irwin, in October. "The decorating of the Christ- mas trees for the hospital was done under the capable supervision of Mrs. George Fisher. Twenty members of the Aid assisted In the project.
