Crapaud, has received the following letter from Belgium: ° On the Firing Line, f. Somewhere in Belgium. April ith, 1016. Dear Cousin Lina:- . We are having beautiful weather here now and are out of the trenches for s rest but are going in asain in a few days time to get another crack at the Germans. We ara holding a new Dart of line and at times, it is pretty w-lld as we are only forty yards from the German trenches and have to keep our heads down if we want to save them, but I sure keep ming down. I have had some very narrow es- capes but they have to go some to get this chicken. The Germans talk to us sometimes and one fellow said-'he would be glad when it was over so he could go back to New York. but I think by the time we are through with him there won't be much of him to go back. . They keep saying the war will be over by June but be- lieve me it don't look much like it at the present, but I for one would be glad to see the end as I want to get back to dear old Canada. Just came in from a football match and am go- ing to'a concert tonight. For all it is very handy to the firing line there are lots of nice girls over here so that helps to brighten llfs up some. I al- most forgot to tell you I have a past to England, the place I love best next tn Canada. It seems so much like home to me for there are so many of my fathers people there.. Those old Sharron families hold some of the grandest places in England. I met some of the Charlottetown boys and the poor fellows all wish themselves back_ home again. Tell mother I got her box of socks and goodies 0_ K. Tell her I will write her soon. - My thoughts are in Crapaud to- night with you all. Well Lina I guess you are getting tired of 'reading my scribbling so new 1 must ring oi! for this time. hoping to hear from you all at an early date.I am as over your liv- ing cousin KILBURN. 111453.
