Mr. Antoine Gallant, _who has been driving Mr. F. T. Arsenault’s egg wagon, took ill with appendicitis on Tuesday. He was able to be out a little on Wednesday and died on Thursday morning. Three doctors were in attendance but they could do nothing to save. him He was twenty-five years old, had an excellent character and his many friends deeply regret his early death. THE police arrested Mr. Archie Ramsay at a late hour Saturday night on a charge of having passed counterfeit money on Mr. H. A. Compton, Saturday evening. Mr. Ramsay claims to have gotthe money -a $10 Confed_erate bill-from a sailor on the barkentine Ramona. He gave the $10 bill to Mr. Compton and got a receiptfor $5 for rent and $5 in cash. Yesterday, shortly afternoon, the sailor, on hearing the police were after him, gave himself up and was also locked injail. The sailor says that he knew.the money to be coun- terfeit but not did mean anyharm by giving it to Mr. Ramsay, and he received nothing in return. THE death of one of Prince County's most highly respected farmers, occurred Saturday afternoon, at 3 n’clock. in the person of Mr. John R. Donald, of Mont- rose. Deceased had been ill only about one week, with pneumonia, and his somewhat sudden demise makes it doubly hard for the many friends. He was -73 years of age, and leaves a wife, four daughters and two sons to mourn the loss of alkind and true husband and father. Mrs- F. 1\'. Peters. of this town is one of the daughters. To the bereaved relatives the sympathy of the community is ex- tended. A NUMBER of those interested in yacht- ing held a meeting on Friday evening, organization of a yachting club. Mr, Neil McLeod occupied the chair and iMr. Harry T. Holman acted as Secretary. It was decided to proceed at once with the organization of a club and a committee of three was appointed tocanvas for mem- bership. The following were appointed the executive: Wm. Strong, Basil Kelly, H. T. Holman, C. W. Steeves, Wm Matheson.
